Some. perhaps many, prefer older guys.
They are more mature, less likely to "butterfly" and chase other women and are usually more stable financially, although the latter doesnt seem as important to many of them.
Way back, it used to be reckoned that the ideal age was that the man should be within a couple of years of twice the girls age.
I have seen many happy marriages between couples where there was a considerable age gap.
On the other hand, many of the modern and better educated Filipinas prefer someone closer in age to themselves.
One point, many people reckon that, on average, their maturity is roughly the same as a western woman of ten years younger than the Filipina.
Agree with Alan...
I know some happy couples that have been together for some time now and have at least one kid where the age difference is greater than 15 years...
An old foreman of mine once said that when he retires he was going to live in the Philippines and find himself a young(18-19ish) Filipina and settle down to become a dirty old man(can't blame him either)...
If I was to settle down(only going to happen if I win the lottery) with a Filipina I would prefer their age in the high 20's early 30's as it would be just a tad closer to my 46 plus they would hopefully be that much more mature and a tad more stable in a relationship...

40 years difference seems a bit too much--although a retired airline pilot here in thailind who is regularly seen with 20 year olds-he has lived in the philippines for years and now splits his time between there and thailand
There are also many here in Thai who start second families after the age of 50. I don't blame the girls one bit.
I am 46 also and dont see myself with anyone under the age of 25. My curretn gf is 12 years younger . _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
With Hal it would be at least 40 years difference - he may have been joking about it but knowing Hal it's entirely possible...
I have actually met an old bloke in Angeles late 60's he was and his wife was only mid 20's and they seemed quite happy - they live in Queensland now and still together although he is quite a bit older now(be well into his 70's)...
I reckon a good age for a potential partner for me would be 30ish - not too big a gap and still able to have a family if she wanted...
I know a lot of Filipinas, and one problem I find is persuading them that they are too young for me.
They seem surprised that any older foreigner would not be interested in them.
Yes, the younger ones look attractive and can be fun, but for a long term relationship, I would prefer someone older.

Its possible they have a hard time telling your age. After all I'm sure we all look the same to them.
I know Iget fooled my many thais-- you think they are 25 but really 35 or more
yes asian girls all of them seem teenagers
but we can ask for them their id
now more serious
in bangkok i listened to stories about bargirls are older than their western men friends.....when they came to hotel they must show their id
and their boyfriends felt confused
the receptionist of the hotel told me this
in thailand there is lot of stories about us they call us falang or so
HI MIKE
i went to macao (close to hong kong)
and then i visited bangkok , but when i saw in local travel agency in khao san road bkk
that the trips are cheap to philippines (boracay island) so i decided go
in 2 weeks i have traveled in those places and i am thinking go again in my next vacations
To me, one of the great things about the Philippines is that they treat older people with respect. So different from in UK / Europe / USA / etc.
As this is part of the culture, many girls tend not to consider age as a barrier, as, us being older gains us more repect and makes us more desireable.

I hope you were able to get out to other parts of thailand. Khao san road sucks big time. Did you go anywhere else in thailand?? _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
