Can you still get aids if you wear a condom how about oral sex
I think using acondom greatkly redus=ces the chancesof getting aids but can also get it from blood transfusion etc.. oral sex--not sure but not a high probability
Good point. But then what was the name of the last man to accuse a parkinson riddled octo-genarian pole of being bright? _________________ Quite Bizarre!!!
Ans : Really depends on whether you is de blowee or blowor

I thought they had a cure these days anyway
I say the following not critically but more in amazement.... I assume from the names and general phrase-ology of many of these posts that the majority of or perhaps all are male posters., and of knowledgeable age.....
Its amazing what we, and I include myself in the grouping, don't know.....
It has been my understanding that :
A HIV infected male can infect a female sexual partner with much more certainty than an infected female can a male sexual partner. Barring any open leisions cuts or abrasions on the penis .... [on the male for those in question in Thailand]
While the instance of the female [or default partner] infecting the stand-up male partner in an oral sex act is less, it is possible if the uninfected male again would have open leisions or should an infected partner accidentially "bite" or break the skin on the penis allowing infected body fluids to enter.
While there are "cocktails" and/or other treatments available to further retard the onset of full blown aides, and to prolong and make life more comfortable, there is no cure to date.
and there is so much that is rumor and bears no relationship to reality....
You will not get HIV-Aids by looking at or knowing someone who is HIV positive.
Some of the sadest moments you can have is when you see someone who is HIV Positive, [many times thru no fault of their own, maybe even small children born or HIV parents] who no longer are accepted or allowed to be around others non infected individuals, treated as a leper with no one wanting to be even near him/her..... and this is by the family of the infected of whom I speak... you may as well forget about former "FRIENDS"
So it should be a lesson to all of us who are uninfected...... watch your step, watch your willy, don't do something that turns out silly and/or fatal
I worked for a while for one of the UN agencies and had close contact with people in UNAIDS, from whom I learned a lot.
Prior to that, I had a co-worker who had AIDS, and when he told me, had to decide whether or not to allow him to stay at work.
(This was in the early days when not as much was known as it is now.)
To do this, I had to learn something about it, and what the risks actually are.
Overall, I dont claim any special expertise, and as things change rapidly, what I do know can soon be out of date.
However, it IS a risk, there is no cure---yet, and precautions are common sense.
Although it is theoretically possible for the virus that causes AIDS to migrate through a condom, on tests, most of the well known brands stopped it.
(However, the Pope has used this theoretical possibility to refute the suggestion that Catholics should be allowed to use them for disease prevention)
Aids can be transfered in any body fluid, but oral sex is pretty safe compared to anything else.
However, syphilis CAn be transmitted via oral sex.
Nope, there is no cure for AIDS yet although lots of people are working on the problem.
If you are going to Thailand or the Philippines is it better to bring your own condoms or trust the condoms suppied by the girl. In Thailand they use a brand known as Durex how do they compare with Trojans or Shiek or Ramsies _________________ You've got another five seconds say something really outragious

Durex is the brand name of LRC (formerly London Rubber Company) who have been making them since the 1920's.
They are one of the largest producers in the world, and have a good reputation.
There are sold in the US, but of course, the home brands are better known there.

I agree with you... bring your own condoms

[quote="Alan Stepney"]Nearly half of 37.2 million adults living with HIV are women, figures show.
The steepest increases have been in East Asia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, with rates in women outstripping those in men in some regions.

Not necessarily. A few bites on the neck by the female partner is all it takes.

Who said it had to be a stand up male partner?
Sometimes, it's just as pleasurable in other positions ...

Watch your willy is right, but somehow it just dont feel right if the girl insists on having oral sex with a condom. I'd rather have other forms of sex at that point ... _________________ Dongguan Expat - Your online Community!
