Mike, I'd also like to point out that I feel very comfortable on this forum, I feel like I can say what I like, without fear of being judged or censored. That is a very good thing to say about a forum - not many are this way. Some other sites are pretty closed and such and don't like new members ... this one is different, as is mine. Wink

Cheers!!

Add my congratulations to the pile too guys. Congratulations to not only Michael but to all of the others who've joined and help make the site a two year success.

No, not a failure, Michael. Failure is when a member tunes in and tries to light up and gets a black screen. No more AEF, thats failure.

May I suggest that you look at it rather as, " not being successful as you may have wanted it to be. I think that is the thought a person in your chair should always have, even it you had 4 times the members and 4 times the number of posts.

I have found, for myself, throughout my life, that once you consider yourself a sucess, than that becomes complacency and thence comes failure. I think as a business owner, a person should never reach success, if so then where is the goal, the drive to be better .

No, by no means is this site a failure. It now falls back to you Michael and all the rest of us who like and appreciate this forum, to dig a little deeper and try a little bit more to come up with some controversial subjects and carry on.

Again Happy Birthday 2 year old and lets get on with the next years higher level of 'non success'

Wave occasion Wave ..... first and second free today

In german we say "Dummheit siegt!" (Stupidity wins!). So why race with it? If you measure this forum by the standards of "power-nonsence-posting" you just havn't seen what it is about. I saw that in the links section of KhonKaen.com it is entered as "The intelligent community". So try to measure its success by comparing it to a forum of its kind. It's the winner (No reason to sit back though)!

Hi Mike -

Yep, I still don't know what I was bashed for there ... but the site admin there's actually pretty cool. Thing is though, if they don't "open" their forum up, it'll never really succeed - as you can see, it's mostly a closed community ... It's probably not the site admin's fault though. Guess it happens sometimes ...

Yep, I guess I come across as American ... at least till someone wants to see me in person and look at my passport and then complain that their schools only want "native English teachers" ... whole another story in itself, and I better not get started on that one! Rolling Eyes And my English IS North American English, which is what makes it more frustrating, anyway, like I said, best not to get started on that one. Very Happy

I actually love the US - it's just the government, and the paranoid cum racist attitude of a lot of people there I just cannot stand. cusssing

I'm curious though - what was the "love affair" being referred to Question Wink

TP, I totally agree with you. One should never rest on one's laurels, and this holds true in ANY field Exclamation Once a person does that, the drive to achieve sort of disappears, as you said.

And yes, certain controversial topics DO get site hits up. Trick's to find the right balance between controversy and regular stuff. Wink

My site's up, as far as I can tell:).

Problem there was that they didnt like a new guy coming in there, and posting stuff they weren't interested in. Note this was just a few members, not all ... you know, when you go into the small towns in the southern US, and your not white, southern Baptist, the same sort of thing happens ...

Anyway, they really got pissed when the flames on me didnt intimidate me. Laughing

I don't post much on there, but I met a couple of cool folks neverthless. Wink

Don't keep asking the same question over and over, just read old threads or even newer ones, add 1 + 1 or maybe substitute the definite article with an indefinite article in the above quotation . . .or follow quotations of idiocy . . . You might have heard of differences in styles of newspapers, like The Sun to the Daily Telegraph in GB . . . Does that suit you as an answer? violent

Congratulations, old chap on a splendid website in all respects. You do have a few extremists in your ranks but that's what what jolly well makes a forum tick, doesn't it?
