Just got back from foodland
there was this dude at the atm--he had a one of those name card holders books full of atm cards and also a handfull of other atm cards. I noticed all of the cards had a sticker with something hand writtten on it. He would stop and let others use the machine but then would continue his withdrawels-each time taking notes an a small notepad-- this went on for the whole time I was there.. WTF was this dude doing?? Any reasonable ideas?-Must of had at least 50 cards.. _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
One might easily be led to believe that he may have been laundering money. With that number of cards, with a daily maximum say of 20,000B
the total withdrawn [based on capacity of the machine] which I am sure would allow for more than 50 people withdrawing the limit between refills [of the machine] thats a million baht in one day.
The stickers on the cards were probably the pin numbers as one could not hardly be expected to remember pin numbers for all 50cards.
Did you happen to see the amounts he was withdrawing? Did it look like the same amount of bills each time? Could each stack be approx 20 bills thick.
The man may have then gone to his car or wherever and secured the money withdrawn and then gone out with another folder of ATM cards to repeat the process.
someone told me that it is not uncommon for thai companies to use some sort of system to get money from customers or some nonsense like that.
the first thing that came to mind was that these were stolen cards or faked cards and the dude was taking out a little money from each--as many people would not notice certain amounts missing from their accounts-- _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
