Been a long time since I heard crap like this.>
Was chatting with a couple of Thai manager colleagues of mine and what do you know they finally found the courage to ask me what really on their minds.
1) why are westerners so hairy?
2) why do westerners like "black" women? "black" in thai means anything other than white. They were referring to all the people who have darker skinned thai girlfriends.
I told them that we are hairy because we come from cold countries where the hair helps to keep us warm. They could understand that answer-it made sense to them
However, whatever answer I had on the "black" question they could not really understand--like we did not pick our partners based on skin color etc.. _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating

I have normal hairy 'blonde' skin on my arms and yes, there is somefacination with it when i'm there. The other question's answer is simple; I say they don't as a rule, there are a few and I'm one of them. I personally find them more attractive than some white girls.
Some do tend to make it racial related though. (that part I find annoying! _________________ Everchanging - Everevolving, Life's dynamic paradox; so remember- happiness is in the journey, not the destination.

In Goa, India (but it could apply elsewhere) ... I was asked why do the foriegners lay in the sun and cook themselves.
I explained that white skin is a thing of beauty to dark skinned people. It suggest that they are rich or important because they do not have to work in the fields.
Whereas people from cold countries like to be suntanned. This suggests they are rich enough to go on holidays to beach resorts.
There is the added factor that tanned people tend to look healthy _________________ EXPAT IN CHINA
Sometimes it is however fun to confuse them at first.....but always come clean.
I try and represent well while there. If anything it sits well in my stomach; often referred to as the one with the broad mind.(gets 'um thing outside themselves!
