keywords are very important as they will appear on meta tage on your directory listing. so keywords for your restaurant might be something like

Yunnan, food, eat, dine, hamburger

etc.....

i'e any words that can be associated with your site theme

Oh, those. I never even know what to put for those on my own webpages. I'm actually going through one of my sites right now trying to fix those meta tags, but probably won't make it past a page or two. Wink

the keywords that you put in my directory will increase show up in teh tags of your directory listing
Do a view source of this page

http://www.expatwebdirectory.com/Eastern%20Asia/China/restaurants-and-nightlife/yunnan-province
The directory will automaticall add some tags based on category etc. but if you put keywords they will show here and search engines have more to look for
