|
|
I just went through a huge hassle trying to close one of my bank accounts and have the money wired here. While it turned out successful, it would have been much easier if I could have just written a check to myself and cashed it somewhere here.
Is it possible anywhere in China to cash a U.S. bank check? Has anyone had to cash a check? What did you do? _________________ Treehouse Bar in Zhongdian, (Yunnan) | Information about China |

We have the same problem here in Thailand. You canot cash a check without waiting like 3 weeks for it to clear.
BTW
You should put your links here--

expatwebdirectory is acting in a way (timing out) that makes me believe it's on the great chinese firewall list.
What do you do in Thailand to cash checks? 3 weeks is about the speed of "express mail" from this town to the U.S., so that would actually be just fine by me if there were some way to do it. _________________ Treehouse Bar in Zhongdian, (Yunnan) | Information about China |

hmm-i am updating the directory now --- without any problems. I can add your links for you but I dont know what you want in way of description or keywords. come to thionk of it I don't recall having any visitors from china. That sucks -I guess. How to make it work to my advantage?
I never have cashed a check here and don't plan to so I was giving a rough estimate of how long the banks say it will take. When I do get a check I send it by mail to bank allong with a deposit slip. Getting money from my bank account is easy. _________________ Asia Expats Forum

and the site is blocked from china, I wouldn't worry about adding them.
China's firewall is supposedly turning keyword-based soon, so if your site has stuff about either of those "autonomous special administrative regions" in the west, or the "renegade province" in the south, or something else "seditious," that might have done it.
Not sure how you could turn it to your advantage. You're part of a big family. _________________ Treehouse Bar in Zhongdian, (Yunnan) | Information about China |

Well then this site is also at risk.
Your links could be useful to those doing research on China before travelling. _________________ Asia Expats Forum

I think the link I tried clicking on had a space in the href= attribute..
like <a href="something/East Asia/China">
instead of <a href="something/East%20Asia/China">
Tried with an anonymizer, but couldn't find a fast enough one. _________________ Treehouse Bar in Zhongdian, (Yunnan) | Information about China |
