business opporitunities? Of course -there are plenty and there are 1000's of foreigners working and or doing business here, for visa info check here

Speaking first hand, yes there are plenty of opportunities, but remember the sword cuts both ways. There are opportunities both good and bad. Unfortunately I would have to say the bad outnumber the good.

I have been here in Thailand, in Phuket, but mostly Chiang Mai and in business for almost 12 years now. Content as I do not know of any place I would rather be and anything else I would rather be doing.

I would recommend that before you do any serious jumping into and making committments of a business venture that you spend a sizable amount of time living here in Thailand. Many come and jump in financially and then a year later want to kick themselves.

Live here a while, breath the air, live the life then decide if Thailand and its ways and people are for you, or you are for it..... It is not for everyone and time and thinking may save you a lot of money and grief.
