For those that travel to Vietnam they may have enjoyed the Dragon Fruit and for those that haven't I feel sorry for you...
The Dragon Fruit is the fruit of a cactus it has milky white flesh flecked with tiny black seeds...
This fruit is probably best eaten chilled but when in Nha Trang I just love sitting on the beach and having a couple of Dragons for lunch...
There are diferent varieties of course but the 2 pics(if they turn out) will give you an idea of the fruit...

They're available in Australia now too but the price for them is rediculous...
In the markets in Nha Trang and Saigon they are extremely cheap but over here they cost something like $15 - $20 a kilo - way to expensive...
Now I've found the cactus is for sale from Queensland but not to West Australia(because our govt consider it a weed - bummer)... |

Can't - In WA it's considered a noxious weed and we can't get it...
The penalty(if caught) for trying to smuggle a plant(or part of one) into the west is quite severe and not worth it - I'll just have to settle for enjoying it when on holidays... |

Ice, Lius has got it...
They guy that grows them did all his research and went through the painstaking procedures and quarantine to start up his farm...
He is at HumptyDoo(yeah real town) in the Northern Territory - I have just recently seen the advert from Queensland advertising the cactus plant...
These fruit are really delicious and I would recommend if you get the chance to try it out... |

Gawd no(thank god for that)...
Taste a little bit like Kiwi fruit but a much more subtle taste and in my view much nicer... |

Ewww... I absolutely hate durian. When I was younger.... I'd have to get out of the house for a while when my family eats durian. I just can't stand the smell of durian. _________________ Goldfish Paradise | Feline Paradise
