I have been entertaining some friends for about the last 3 months.

Each night we drank more and more, until well each of us drank about 500ml of 40% wiskey. Not a bad effort.

One morning I woke up and I couldn't see. No it wasn't bad luck, just alcoholic poisoning.

I made the decision to have a week off the evil drink. After not being able to sleep for two days I felt better, and I celebrated with a few drinks.

Now I am 4-sheets to the wind after only 8 shots of scotch. Is this a good thing or a bad thing ?

I think if yer drinkin' heavy for as long as you were\are, going on the wagon is gonna give you some restless nights sleep. Been there, done it. No fun, leads to sleeping pills.... (Which help BTW, over the counter stuff for a couple days won't hurt. )

Sheets to the wind is a old sailors reference to being sloshed. Sheets are the ropes on a sailboat controlling the sails and they should be tied off on the leeward side while sailing, not on the windward (To the wind) side...lol
