How are environmental policies in Thailand? Do they have good rules and regulations to protect the environment? Also is the government enforcing those rules and regulations? _________________ Online Degrees : Movie Reviews
Here we go: Thailand is an Asian country and, with the exception of two or three countries, concern for the environment is non-existent.
Emissions are unregulated and there is garbage everywhere. Plastic bags are the bane of both city and countryside with filth and grime a constant reminder that you are in the tropics.
(I'd put the exceptions as Singapore, Japan and maybe, just maybe S. Korea) _________________ _____________________________________
Plenty of concern there, but problem is all the gases emnating from the PRC - specifically Guangdong province. And, I suspect, even MORE specificially ... Dongguan ... the world's factory .... _________________ Dongguan Expat - Your online Community!

Oh, I don't know Rahul.....
The air quality in Dongguan is much, much better than in Guanzhou. _________________

A bit better, not much ... some parts of DG may be better, but not most ... Most of the PRD is quite polluted IMO. I seem to recall a site showing air pollution stats here, but can't remember the URL at the moment. _________________ Dongguan Expat - Your online Community!

How about a change of perspective: "Just some people can afford to spend all their money on soap instead of at least some of it on food"? _________________ Thailand Forum - Korat Forum..

I'd agree with you to a certain extent . . . different values and priorities. We have a small bio-fuel plant in Northeast Thailand and do our best to handle the waste problem carefully while others just dump it into the forest. Correct disposal costs money but is not detrimental to the environment.
You live in Thailand, so I guess you can see the plastic bags, straws, bottles and general rubbish flying all around the place, blocking drains and allowing mosquitos to breed and spread disease. the busses spewing out their black filth onto roadside eateries. _________________ _____________________________________
Thye beach in front of the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel in Pattaya is spotless.
Actually, just got back from a spontaneously planned week in Phuket, fleeing the haze in Singapore, and the place is quite ratty and filthy, even the beaches.
But, as you said . . . the sand in front of our resort was squeaky clean. _________________ _____________________________________
