I have been assigned for a long-term stay to the Philippines, now need some advice which bank I should best choose to open an Euro-account.
Anybody with ideas?

have been looking around and found Metrobank also offering Euro-accounts.
Will be moving to Cebu in Dec and if I compare PCI and Metro, the latter seems to be the better option.
Because:
1. Lower Minimum Balance to earn interest and lower Initial Deposit
(Metrobank; 600.-EUR, Equitable: 5000.-EUR)
2. Plenty more branches in Cebu (Equitable only 2)
3. Many more ATM in Cebu (Equitable only 1)
Interest rate for Euro Account is same: 0,75% pa. Both offer Internet Banking.
I thought I saw the Equitable min balance at 250 EUR. never mind
€250 only for qualified accountholders only, based on set criteria of
Euro Allottee Account:
An interest-bearing euro-denominated savings account offered especially for Express Padala Center (EPC) allottees who are existing USD account holders of the Bank and wjo are required by their respective employers to open a Euro account.

I have lived here 23 years and seen loal banks rise and fall (including some perceived as being amongst the biggest and the best!)
In the event that I wanted to maintain a Foreign Currency Account I would choose ANZ BANK as it is a branch of the large Australian based International bank and has a small operation in the Philippines. Thus service is their strongpoint!
I know that a Euro checking and savings account is available at ANZ
