Their first thought probably isn't related to beauty, rather, financial concerns. Mr. Green

Well, you won't be able to access the financialy capabilities of someone at first sight... and maybe I'm from an older generation who always think about IF our kids will look beautiful and etc...

(excuse me for have no "mood" to use smilies for now, and more so, if I make no sense)

wolfie, we are all entitled to our own opinions. Smile If that's what you think, then more power to you! Very Happy

As far as what I said goes, nope, probably can't judge accurately at first sight, but a bit of probing is all that's required. Wink

Why are you so upset? Sad

Upset about things I shouldn't probably even be bothered about, maybe...

Its only a forum, who really cares... You might have thought there's actual friendship that's forged. But people DO choose their friends and I had better keep that in mind and know my own place...

I'm just a passenger... at the wrong bus stop

Be nice to yourself, Wolfie -

At the end of the day, you CAN make friends on a forum - and as you yourself said, don't take all this too seriously Exclamation

I personally thought your friend's second response was just a bit too harsh (but then I dont know the whole story, so did not comment).

As a few of the posters have already mentioned or suggested, it all comes down to personalities and character whoever you marry.

I'm sure a few of the longer term expats will agree that after a while you hardly even notice you're married (or with) a Japanese woman. She's just a woman.

Lots of bright Japanese women for those gaijin who figure out some of the language, and know who they are. (How did I find out)?

I've been married more than most, and besides that, Japanese women have always been close whilst I've been here.

I like Japanese women who basically keep their traditions and especially their femininity. I became terminally frustrated with (what I believe to be) the Feminization of Britain - from which I hail, and I found that more Japanese girls than Western girls were able to express their feminine side when circumstances would encourage it.

I don't have to flaunt anything here apart from just being myself. Being tallish, having blond hair and blue eyes are handy on occasions

But then again, I was married to a Japanese woman when I lived in Kansai, and her hobby was getting drunk and telling me how useless I was at everything. Very Happy

My next foreign wife was Chinese. She set me up to pay her life with massive life insurance. She even stole from our school, and opened a secret bank account to channel money for her habits.

My present wife is Japanese, but we are separated now. I didn't know enough about the Soka Gakkai until I was really suckered in and roped to her and our kids. *sigh*

... Still... It's a job to find a night when I am not "required." Remembering their names always makes me sweat.

Intelligence is the key point for me, and I believe Japanese women are generally superior to other Asian women. - In looks as well. Very Happy

I can't imagine marrying an Asian from South Asia. They are a little 'rough' for my tastes. I'd consider flirting with an Asian from the North ... But if I couldn't be with a Japanese woman then I'd consider a German or an English girl.

Then again ... I'm sick of being married anway. The semi-single life suits me at the mo'. Wink
