How do those of us living in India as expats feel? Like the place, but hate the chaos? Hate the hot weather, but absolutely love the hot FOOD?
OK, I'm sure most would like the food there, but other than that ... how do ya'll like it?
Yours truly is originally Indian, and therefore can't comment, since I've never lived in India as an "expat". _________________ Dongguan Expat - Your online Community!
I think that newcomers to India quickly experience so many different sorts of emotions upon arrival that they sometimes tend to make up their minds about it within a very short time! I've known some who have literally 'up and gone' within seven days and others who you couldn't prise away and who come back again and again.....like me a bit I suppose. The food here has never really been a problem for me as I've shopped around and gone to cafe's that my Indian friends used and never gotten sick to date at any rate, through food. India is such a diverse, tragic and beautiful country that even a lifetime would not be long enough to travel through it! _________________ Giving dignity & respect to a man simply because he is a man, also includes our children....

Oh yes, very true indeed!! Pretty much what happens when one goes to China, but the sheer diversity in India really multiplies this feeling tenfold.
As for me, personally I prefer living elsewhere than India, but this is just me ... it's really great to know you enjoy India so much!!

Most Westerner's love Indian food!! That being said, it CAN be a bit spicy for the Western palate. But generally you won't get sick if you go to the better restaurants - just may get a tummy upset. _________________ Dongguan Expat - Your online Community!
I lived in India for 14 years but I usually avoided the food.
Good job, Quibble. Doddering old quibblers with weak stomachs and achy hemmoiriods (sp??) should avoid it. _________________ Dongguan Expat - Your online Community!
