I'm sure you must have a valid reason for wanting to carry firearms in The Phils. Why not ask a Filipino embassy in the UK? _________________ EXPAT IN CHINA

Foreigners are not allowed to carry firearms in the Phils.
Don't try to bring one. The Philippine Government has very strict laws regarding the possession of firearms by foreigners and several foreigners have been sentenced to life imprisonment for bringing firearms into the country.

There are a few, a very few foreigners who are allowed to own firearms in the Philippines.
If you were in one of those catagories, you would know it.
Even Filipinos are not allowed to carry guns on the streets, and are limited to two weapons per person with strict controls over what they are.
Of course, guns are available illegally, as they are in most places. However, the penalties for being caught with one are SEVERE.
To me, a more important question is WHY?
Why would you want a gun in the Philippines? _________________ The Middle Eastern states aren't nations; they're quarrels with borders.- P. J. O'Rourke
I had a friend who took a redundancy from work (1990) and went to live in the PI...
He lasted less than 12 months - he decided he wanted a gun and bought one of the illegal variety and he then proceded to get caught with it (dobbed in that is by his so called business partner)...
He stood to face 25 years in prison (that is the penalty for both locals and foreigners apparently) but he managed to "buy" his way out and took a voluntary deportation...
All this cost him over $120,000 to buy his way out and took about 4 months whilst still locked up in Manila - when he arrived back in Australia he was broke as he had blown all of his redundancy payout...
So one question do you really want to own a gun in The Philippines???

A foreigner is not allowed to obtain gun if he doesnt work on an embassy or a bodyguard of somebody important. but there are special cases where you can get a permit to carry a gun if you can prove to the national police that your life is in danger and you are a valuable commodity of the philippines.
but why trouble yourself with guns if you know we have a jail system you dont want to go? _________________ www.talkphilippines.com - A place to share your experiences about the Philippines
