I have been told that Americans are not allowed to purchase one way tickets to the Philippines. Is this correct and I have also heard that there is another way of flying to the Philippines without purchasing a one way ticket (something like a continuation ticket). Any information would be appreciated. _________________ Hosea
Many countries wont allow airlines to fly people in without them having an outbound ticket.
It will be the airline that checks as they are liable to fly you out if you are not allowed in.
Some airlines will give a refund for the unused return portion, but that usually only applies to full price tickets.
An onward ticket, perhaps to Thailand via Clark, is one of the cheapest options.
However, it might be worth considering your future plans. A week or weekend break in, say, Hong Kong, at some time on the future might be worthwhile, and in that case, having the ticket already could make sense.
Normally, many people go to the Philippines on a tourist visa, and that only lasts for 16 months before one has to leave the country, returning, say, 24 hours later to start another 16 months. (Thus having the outbound ticket already can be useful.)
As I see from your other post that you are seeking residency, that wont apply in your case. _________________ The Middle Eastern states aren't nations; they're quarrels with borders.- P. J. O'Rourke
