Hello girls!
In your country, what is the rule for Girls?
For the Ede ethnic minority people of the central Highlands in Vietnam, nha dai (long house on stilts ) is synonymous with “mother”. The houses are rich in feminice symbols with the image of bountiful breasts careved into the wooden stairs handrails and windows, and most of the furniture inside is round and full in shape.
The Ede are an entirely matriarchal society. Women hold all the power in the family ad well as in the winder community, which means theirs is a tranquil and contented society. They have one highly unusual custom, one which is possibly unique in the world, by which it is the wealth from her mother and effectively rules the rest of the family.
When girls get married they stay at home with mum. Before her wedding another room is added on to the houses; this will become the marital bedroom. Thus just by lucking at a house it is possible to work out how many daughters there are in the family.
The Nha dai is usually divided into the three parts with two wings in front and behind which serve as litchen, pantry and workshop. The middle guest room plays a key role: It is the place where the family treasures, paticularly musical instruments made of bronse, and furniture are displayed. The main bedroom, belonging of course to the mother, sits next to the back wing. This is also where the aftar for ancestor worship is situated. The Nha dai is raised about two mettres and hasa wooden ladder.
