I was a little bit shocked when i tried to open my gmail this morn and was told that my account had been locked due to "unusual activity" or something like that.
The message included links to the terms of use along with an email address to gmail support.
I immediately sent a mail to the support stating that I abide by the rules and what happened to my gmail account which i now rely upon solely for my non-work emailing.
I had the following response in about 2 minutes
"Our system has detected unusual usage of your Gmail account. For your
protection, we have temporarily disabled all access to your account.
If you suspect that the unusual usage of your account has been caused by a
third party, we recommend that you change your password and secret
question once you are able to log back in to Gmail. You should be able to
access your account again within 24 hours.
If you are using any software that automatically logs in to your account,
or automatically sends and receives messages, we ask that you disable the
software before accessing Gmail again. Please note that the use of such
third-party software is not supported by Gmail."
and I was able to use the account again right away. I would have liked more details as to this unusual activity but I applaud the google support team for responding so quickly-- _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
I created a couple of gmail accounts six months. I open them each day, however I don't actually use them much. My plan was if someone wanted to send me really big files / photos, then gmail could accommodate them.
In some places, such as Myanmar and parts of China, Hotmail & Yahoo is blocked. FuseMail is the alternative for accessing those accounts _________________ EXPAT IN CHINA
My gmail has been locked 4 times now. Each time I send a mail to the google support and they unlock it. _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating

Over the last couple of weeks, I've been getting this message when I try to access my Hotmail more than once per day:
"...Your Web browser options are currently set to disable cookies. To use .NET Passport, you must enable cookies.
.NET Passport stores cookies (small text files) on your computer that let you sign in to .NET Passport participating sites. For information about how to enable cookies, see the online help for your Web browser..."
Good thing I have other email accounts to use _________________ EXPAT IN CHINA
That's easier said then done. I've already tried doing it. Seems like it could be adjusted & controlled by the campus (LAN) adminstrator _________________ EXPAT IN CHINA
possibly they run a script to delete cookies. For what reason they would restrict cookies I dont know. many sites now require cookies to be enabled _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
