My name is Susan, I’m a 35yr old American, with a passion for travelling. I thought I’d let you all in on a secret I came across when travelling around Thailand. The secret is Koh Mook. Koh Mook is a small island situated just off the mainland, adjacent to the city of Trang. Getting there was made very simple; all of the travel agents in Trang can arrange a bus – boat transfer. Once I arrived on Koh Mook I instantly fell in love with the long deserted beach, wow! I decided to stay at the Rubber Tree Bungalows; this was after some recommendations from some other travellers. The Rubber Tree was fantastic, clean, airy rooms with en-suite bathrooms, for only 500B. The food was great, plenty of it and very cheap. I spent most of my time relaxing on the beach, chilling out and reading a book. I went out to Koh Rok with Ott, (the owner/manager of the Rubber Tree), Ott organises great overnight trips to the island, which is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. The trip includes the boat, snorkelling, kayaking, fishing, all the camping gear, food and drinks.
Koh Mook is blessed with a good range of restaurants and bars. Maew’s Thai Kitchen, has some of the best Thai curries I‘ve ever tasted. Mookies bar is a must, great atmosphere, great location, and the coldest beer on the island.
I’d recommend Koh Mook for anybody looking for a hidden paradise, its going to become more and more popular, as its discovered by other travellers.
I’d be happy to give any advice about Koh Mook to anybody interested in going.
