I know this is a complicated subject. I is hard to define the selections without making it a black and white issue. I hope I worded the selections so that there is no bias towards either one.
Of course you can always add a few thoughts along with your vote to help support your selection.
Isn't nice to have something else to think about other than the US elections.
What is the problem with the Muslims in the South?
I have been wondering that myself. seriously tho,if you are,,they want home rule in the 3 southern provs. of Thailand. The same as they want in malaysa,and in the southern Fillipines,,they have been raising hell in the PI for years,since before the 2nd WW, they have been killing and kidnapping, Just likeall most all muslims cept the Turks..
The muslims want to rule the world,plain and simple,But I don't think that is their real reason,even tho thats what they say.
They used to rule the jews cause the jews wouldn't fight,now they will, in 1948 the jews came home and started to fight,Whipped the muslims, then said,"Now lets get to work building a country" But the arabs would have none of that so 600K jews started to build Israel,the 4M arabs would not come back and help, They just wanted to kill jews.,But the jews ain't going to go for that idea.
When the arabs had control, they still fight,,the sh*ites kill the sunni,the sunni kill the shi*tes,when ever they have no one else to kill, But they really want to kill Kurds and christians., will if any are handy, and then go back to killing each other.
The Ottoman Turks are the only different Muslims,,kinda like Bahrain,,only even more so. Women got rights,,can vote and drive,are treated like humans stead of property,,no muslim attire in schools,,and they are 99% muslim,,during the crusades they were the ones that whipped the crusaders,and ruled all of the country over there, all arabs and jews were under their rule for centurys.
Appeasement don't work with most muslims,,only way they aint gonna try to kill ya is if you cut your own throat. if they were given the 3 provs. they would want 3 more and then when they when they got to China they would start killing chinese..
Those folks have been fighting for 7000 years and aint going to stop now.

OH, and I didn't vote as I am an expat, so it is none of my business really how they do things.
But I think that he handled it fine the last time,,seem like they have settled down from the news we get up here.
If Thaksin's method of "negotiation through strength" means murdering almost 80 people who had already surrendered and were already detained and in governmental custody... then I seriously doubt that he will be successful.
I, as an expat, DID vote in the poll... because how things are run in my adopted country DOES affect my life here to a huge degree, thus making it my business.

That does not explain what has set off this lateset wave of violence. is it instigated by outside influences spurred on by GW's perceived atack on muslims? I can't believe it is locally driven as they have never resorted to this kind of violence before.

It has been going on in the southern filippines in Zambowanga for 100 years or more, It is ongoing in malaysa, indonesia,,never much press because it was isolated and not of a large scale on most ocassions,,but it was happening.
It was happening in all countrys and areas of the Ottoman empire for thousands of years, Really made public knowledge during the "Crusades" and after 1948 with the founding of Israel it was made world news, But it was happening.
Different factions of the Arab world were trying to force their own ideas of ISLAM on others that believed different than they themselves believed for these thousands of years. Just as christians have each tryed to force on others that their own beliefs were correct and any other were wrong. The Crusader on their way across europe killed over 100K people who were believers in GOD [not Allah] on their way to the holy wars before they ever got to the OTTOMAN empire simply because they did not believe in the catholic way.[The Father, The Son and the holy Ghost,and of Mary The mother of the lord and the virgin of Holy Conception}
It will continue just as long as we have fanatics who believe that everyone should believe in GOD and that their way to worship is the only way and all others are in fact not acceptable, and now it seems that most Muslims are in fact Fanatics.
The belief that it is the fault of GWB is just an excuse for those fanatics.And in the belief that all men are created equal and all people are basically good people. Which history has proven that they are NOT.
First of all , muslims, christians and jews share the same god. there is no diference betwen Allah and god.
I believe that there has been an increase in Muslim violent fanatacism since GW invaded afghanistan.

21yrs, Read what I posted,,I never said there was a different GOD,,I said the way worship and the book of said religion is written and what it says,,
Christians use The Holy Bible,,muslims use the quaran, jews use the torah,mormons use the book of mormon,the catholics believe in idols, all christians believe in the cross and Jesus as lord,,some even go so far as to think jesus was a man til he was dead then lord, some believe he was always lord,alive or dead. And there have been wars over that belief.
Islam believe in GOD as Allah [There is no GOD but ALLAH and Muhamad is his Prophet],Jews believe in GOD as HYWA[something like that,I can't remember] but they use those symbols because they can't say his name outloud, his name used to be Yeahwa and do not believe that jesus was ever lord, or in divine conception..
So therefore the cross is just about outlaw in muslim countrys,,they use a Red Crescent on ambulances instead of a red cross, same with the charity org. American Red Cross ,there it is the Red Crescent society.
I spent about 7 years working around the arabian gulf and I think that more muslims are fanatics than you seem to believe. You will find that most muslims and most catholics are fanatics.,, and every religion has it's share.

That statement does not make sense as GOD=Allah.
The Christians believed that Jesus was the son of God.
Muslims are those who believed that Jesus was only a prophet and that Mohommad was the last prophet.
The Jews are still waiting for another prophet.
Most Muslims are fanatics? Again , this is nonsense. There are millions and millions of muslims in Indonesia, malaysia, egypt,turkey, china and regions other than the middle east. Middle eastern muslims make up a very small portion of muslims.
well you sure have some strange ideas, But christians never refer to GOD as ALLAH, so in fact God does not = ALLAH to everyone., and some folks , do not think that Jesus has anything to do with GOD,,the Jews for one and ISLAM for another. I have never seen JESUS mentioned in the Quoran or the Torah.
I will not argue with you and what you know about religion, thats why folks is killing each other,,some don't really know whats goin on and others want everyone to think as they do. and if they don't,then kill em.
But the quaran was written from the teachings of muhammad, so how could he have came after jesus when there has been a muslim religion for thousands of years before Jesus was born??
The same goes for Judea,,there was jews thousands of years before Jesus, and Moses was the one that inspired the Torah.
I got to dig out some books. Maybe Moses and Muhammad were the same guy, I do know that there is great similarity between Judea and Islam, therefore I have never figured out why the fight, but then great similaritys between most religions,,just the termanology and small differences and damn sure not enough to fight over,,just like sh*ite and sunni , But they do and I guess that GOD is a good an excuse as any.
You are most likely right about that, I havent found the book I was looking for about the religious wars,,but I thot I remembered he was before, believing none of that god stuff it is easy to forget dates and times,,but I will look anyway when i can turn up the ref. but I do know that they have been killing each other over it for thousands of years. long time before christ.
