I lived in Australia for about 3 years but some years ago, and now do not recall the answer, but can someone tell me if a foreigner is able to own land [Real Estate] house, and/or property in Australia ???
Land ownership ultimately vests in the crown. The states came into existence before the commonwealth did in 1901. Each state has its own laws.
There are supposed to be foreign investment bureaux, but real estate agents & state stamp duty offices usually don't care where you come from, as long as they get their money.
If you want to starting buying big parcels of land, office blocks or shopping centres, you could be scrutinized more. _________________ EXPAT IN CHINA
As far as land ownership here in West Australia is concerned I think it's open season...
There is so much of it owned by foreigners it's not funny and I don't think there are any special requirements either - just as long as you have the money you can buy...
