I've been here for close on 2 years now, and missed AU for the first time the other day, as I was sitting on the bus for my visa run...
I'd put a bunch of Australian songs in my MP3 player and had the headphones on, and Chisel was there - "and the flame trees go by the weary driver..."
I was looking out the window of the bus at the Thai countryside on the way to Arunyaprathet, and as there were no rice fields at that particular moment, and there were a couple of hills off in the distance, it could almost have been somewhere in North Queensland! It brought back memories of many many concerts and tours from Sydney to Cairns, and Darwin. I could just see myself back there again.
Anyone else here like the same old great music?
Oils, Angels, Hunters, heck even the likes of Skyhooks and LRB - they just don't write songs like that any more...

A famous song in Australia is entitled "Khe Sanh". However, Australian soldiers were only posted in south Vietnam. From January to April 1968, the battle at Khe Sanh, perhaps the most controversial of the Vietnam War, was in north Vietnam close to Laos
