Thailand's hospitals and clinics make a name for themselves by attracting foreign travellers in need of medical and aesthetic treatments
Story by JARUNEE TAEMSAMRAN
Tourists can return home with not just good memories but with a better health as well.
Gillian de Marchi flew all the way from Sydney, Australia, stopped overnight in Bangkok for a dental check-up at Bangkok Dental Spa Clinic, before continuing her journey the next day.
"I came here because the clinic and Thai dentists are famous in Sydney. People back home are talking a lot about coming to Thailand for dental treatment," she said.
Located on Sukhumvit Road, the clinic is also Bangkok's first dental spa. Mrs Marchi was impressed by its professional expertise and caring staff.
"More than that I can get everything at half the price I would be required to pay in Sydney. The service and expertise of doctors are of the same standard. I can't be happier," she said.

I've noticed more advertising for medical and dental services, the last couple of times I've been in Thailand.
Last summer I spoke with some other farang tourists. If someone got well organised, s/he could do a "health" run to Thailand

A year or so ago, Thail Airways were offering a package deal from the UK, including flights, 3 nights at a decent hotel, plus a comprehensive mediacl check up, all for the same price as the (full priced) flight. _________________ The Middle Eastern states aren't nations; they're quarrels with borders.- P. I went to Thailand (Si Racha) earlier this year from Japan to go to the dentist.
Airfare, accomm and fees were only about USD$200 more than doing it here...and I got a nice holiday |

No, just got it recommended from a friend. It's a clinic called "Modern Smile" on the top floor of Pacific Park Mall. Pretty good English, clean modern, fast. They did well

2 of the popular tourist hospitols in Bangkok have in- house Starbucks, and Au Bon Pain deli.
They are becoming like hotels with additional health services.
A very profitable undertaking I presume _________________ Asia Expats Forum

Yeah, that's what I hear. Never knew about the Starbucks though
I thought I was being pretty innovative in doing it that way but then I read an article about it in an in-flight magazine...must be really taking off.

| I travel from the US to Bangkok yearly for medical work. Mostly dental, but I have have several things done in the hospital. All work has been excellent and 70% cheaper than the US. Plus service is bar none and quality of care equal to ANY place in the US. |

I was very tempted to do the colon cleaning thing while I was in Hua Hin. They will stick a tube in your butt and wash out all the crap...seriously...very tempted (but my wife put a stop to it).
So, I just stick to the facials and the messages. _________________ Promote Your Site |

A colleague of mine paid 500 baht for a BSC (back, sack & crack) wax in Chiang Mai last year. That's worth considering but I think your wife is right, the old colon stick is a bit too invasive |
