Nok Air is a new low cost airline registered under Sky Asia Co., a joint venture between public and private investors. Nok, Thai for “bird”, is a short, simple and easy to remember name that all Thais can relate to. As for our goal we aim to touch all our passenger with our friendly Nok Culture. At Nok Air we put much of our efforts to understand the needs and demands of passengers how complex they may be. As a result we hope to give the passengers the level of service that is beyond their expectations. Secondly, Nok Air would like to offer the freedom for everyone to have flying as an option for a mean of transport. In order to achieve this we try to understand consumer behavior, and how we can make flying most easiest and convenient to them as possible. Lastly, Nok Air holds safety at the heart off the operation. Nok Air aircraft operations complies fully with the same safety standard as Thai Airways International. Its current aircraft are all newly leased from Thai Airways with highly experienced cockpit crews.

In terms of flight operations Nok Air will be flying to all parts of Thailand, with Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Udon Thani, Phitsanulok and Phuket as the planned destinations during 2004. The price of the air tickets will be competitive to the other low cost airlines is the market.

With this strategy Nok Air hopes to be able to give those that have never flown before a convenient and desirable means of transportation, while offering the chance to those that already are enthusiastic travelers the opportunity to travel even more often. For these reason we at Nok Air hope that we are the choice for you travel.

May be of interest to you.... Thai Airways now has a direct flight Bangkok - JFK.... not too bad price by todays market prices..... They also, like EVA, have an economy deluxe class that gives you the wider businesss class seat

Be of interest if you check it out from that end to see what a r/t ticket would be...... I'm sure they are different prices dependent on which end you purchase...

Maybe some day they'll have cheap flights to the US too, but for the moment it says Europe at low price:

Quote:
Fly to Europe for B9,000

SriLankan Airlines has announced an unmatched standard single fare from Bangkok via Colombo to London, Paris and Frankfurt, priced one-way from 9,000 baht onwards and 17,100 baht for a round-trip.

Passengers depart Suvarnabhumi Airport via an Airbus to Colombo, the Sri Lankan capital, where they will be immediately connected to those cities.

For reservations or other information on this promotional offer, call the airline's sales office at 02-236-8451 or visit your nearest travel agent.

As relates to Nok Airways and Air Asia, I still tell all those who ask, NOT to fly those airlines .

This due entirely to their treatment of those that are disabled.

If you can fly some other airline, my recommendation is to do so.
