That is one of the advantages of the Philippines, unspoiled beauty and one can find places away from the crowd.
Few Filipinos use the beach in the way that we westerners do. For one thing, most do not want to risk making their skin darker. A dark skin indicates that one is a manual worker in the fields, rather than an educated person who works in and office / shop / etc., and hence you will find skin lightening creams and soaps in all the shops.
The number of visitors is just under 1 million (far less than Thailands) but of these, many are Filipinos who have moved overseas and are going "home" to see their families, rather than taking a vacation.
Of the foreign visitors, many go on business and often the schedule limits the time available, so travel to the more remote and attractive places is difficult or impossible.
Apart from the beaches, I am told that the Philippines has some of the best scuba diving in the world. Many enthusiastic divers go there solely for that. Again, few will spend time sitting on the beach.
Yeah, you might guess that some Filipinos prepare to be white using lots of whitening lotion etc. but when summer time comes... you'll gonna see them all on those beautiful beaches. _________________ “to never stop dreaming until your hair turns gray… that’s the essence of living”
