We plan going there for summer hols, but somebody told us that Phuket 8 days too long. What do u think?

We want to take our 4 yrs old for elephant ride and canooing or snorkling, a friend recommend us to go to Huahin. Have no idea what is in there ... can anyone give any suggestion please. We dont really bother with bar and clubbing since we have a kid with us. We want beach, river, anything adventourous.

Will appreciate any idea ...

phuket wins easily--much better beaches, more activitities and more variety of accomodations

whats wrong with 8 days?--just enough time to wind down

We are also planning a summer trip to Phuket, problem is we have a 8 year old and a 2 year old, kind of difficult to satisfy both at the same time! Do you think the 2 year old is too young for elephant trekking? (he will be 2 1/2 in summer)

I think the 2 year old will love the elephant trekking--unless of course he is afraid of the elephant. The elephant trek is in Phuket??

Yeah ... i thought 8 days is OK ... we would like stay in a nice hotel ... hubby can take son to the beach or pool while i pamper in the spa (i think i deserve that after a year of life with houseworks and taxi driver for son). Hehe...

Last time we went there was like 8 yrs ago ... we got robbed ... went to Simon Cabaret ... get home ... the next day found out that our passports and wallet gone. Well actually they only took hubby british passport. Who want Indonesian passport Shocked

Mike ... is that possible to rent a car in Phuket. Are they places to explore with car ... mountain ... beaches ... forest ... anything ...

I think i will need your assistance again near the day. I am going home to Indo for a month this saturday, back to Doha afte that for 6 weeks then off again for hubby 6 week annual leave (including 8 days to Phuket).

8 days is definately not too long at all - in fact personaly I would say it's not long enough but for a young family maybe just about right...

Anyone knows Novotel Phuket ... ??? What do u think about the hotel? Does the hotel have their own beach?
