We plan going there for summer hols, but somebody told us that Phuket 8 days too long. What do u think?
We want to take our 4 yrs old for elephant ride and canooing or snorkling, a friend recommend us to go to Huahin. Have no idea what is in there ... can anyone give any suggestion please. We dont really bother with bar and clubbing since we have a kid with us. We want beach, river, anything adventourous.
We are also planning a summer trip to Phuket, problem is we have a 8 year old and a 2 year old, kind of difficult to satisfy both at the same time! Do you think the 2 year old is too young for elephant trekking? (he will be 2 1/2 in summer)
Btw Mike, the link you recommended was great, we're planning to stay at the Cape Panwa Hotel which looks perfect, we like to be away from the partying crowd too. Thanks
I think the 2 year old will love the elephant trekking--unless of course he is afraid of the elephant. The elephant trek is in Phuket?? _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
Where r u based at the moment Mike? I always thought that u r in Phuket. Forgive me if I was wrong.
Yeah ... i thought 8 days is OK ... we would like stay in a nice hotel ... hubby can take son to the beach or pool while i pamper in the spa (i think i deserve that after a year of life with houseworks and taxi driver for son). Hehe...
Last time we went there was like 8 yrs ago ... we got robbed ... went to Simon Cabaret ... get home ... the next day found out that our passports and wallet gone. Well actually they only took hubby british passport. Who want Indonesian passport
Mike ... is that possible to rent a car in Phuket. Are they places to explore with car ... mountain ... beaches ... forest ... anything ...
I think i will need your assistance again near the day. I am going home to Indo for a month this saturday, back to Doha afte that for 6 weeks then off again for hubby 6 week annual leave (including 8 days to Phuket).

Hi novita
Im located just outside of BKK
rental cars are available in Phuket and there is some exploring that can/ should be done.
If youre willing to splurge- check out the marriott spa- had some friends who stayed there and loved it.

Thanks Mike. Our little one isn't afraid of anything, in fact I insist on not having any pets for the benefit of animal welfare. As for elephant trekking, we're still contemplating a two/three centre thing, but if that doesn't come off I guess we can always go to the Phuket zoo, and I read it somewhere that you can go on an elephant ride.
I take it you don't belong in the young family category, Gringo?
Definately not that's for sure and hoping to get back there later this year - ummm errrrr ahhhhh for catching up with some old friends sort off...
Still it's a good place for a young on family holiday as some friends of mine head there every couple of years with their families - they reckon 2 weeks is quite good for the youngsters and more than enough there to keep them busy...
