The Taipei British School (TBS), Ecole Fran?aise de Taipei (EFT); and Deutsche Schule Taipei (DST) began around 1990 in response to the needs of expatriate families with young children, living in Taipei. The schools soon realised that there was much to be gained by joining forces to establish a combined European campus. This would allow the schools to share some facilities and resources yet teach their own respective national curricula.
The three school sections have shared campuses since 1992 but the integration model has recently taken a much bigger step to finalise the legal arrangements for a single European entity operating through a non-profit making Foundation. The Taipei European School now comprises the original British, French and German school sections and a recently established High School.

Our school has served Taiwan for more than fifty years. We are proud of our reputation on this island and throughout the Pacific Rim. The talent of our students, the skill of our faculty, and the unprecedented participation by our parent community makes the difference. Our school is fortunate to have a strong parent-teacher association as well. Volunteerism is a signature of our school where parents and students contribute thousands of hours of service to TAS, and they do so in legions with all the grace and joy of people who know how to support their school. I am pleased to report that the efforts of our students, faculty, parents, administrators, and our support staff demonstrate uncommonly high expectations, confidence and talent, and a strong sense of commitment to student learning.

The size of YMSCS makes it possible for each teacher to individualize instruction in a way not possible in a larger setting. Not only is learning benefited, but social development is also enhanced in a smaller, family-type setting. Children in small school situations become more independent and do better academically because of lower student/teacher ratio.
Children not only come to learn English or Academics but they also learn Christian morals and values, integrity, honesty, respect for others, and responsibility.
