I am the ex-commissione of the Bangkok International Softball League--gave up the postion to a teammate.
Average age pattaya player? 40 or so. pattaya softball is for anyone-just show up on sunday ( year round)and you'll get some playing time.-- some good players but also some not so good players.
Bangkok Softball average age--in the 30's--lots of guy over 40 but quite a few in their twenties. This past season was very competitive. 7 out of 8 teams were very good.
We follow mosllt ASA rules aithour own set of bylaws--bats are according to ASA. Good bats cannot be found in Thailand--bring your own.
Not sure how to compare skill level but I'd say it is high--how to judge?--of the 7 teams. they all have good right fielders
team I played for last season finished 7th during the regular season but we were runners up in the seasonn ending tourney. We had to play like 5 games in a row and ran outta steam.
Can find you a team -yes-- your age is not a problem
Playing time will depend on your skill.
What positions can you play? Big hitter? or?? _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
I've been mostly pitching the last year. Picked it up several years ago once I was taught to only throw strikes to prevent walks that score runs. I love pitching.
Prior to that I was most always a 1st baseman. My ability is somewhere between an intramural player and a poor varsity player.
I'm a streak hitter...can usually maintain a .500 average. yeah, I know it should be around .700 in softball. Our fields here are 285 ft to the fence. So I usually can only hit one out about twice over 20 games.
If you are coming to thailand and want to play-let me know--The bangkok season starts Jan til May but pattaya is all year round. _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
Hi Mike, this is Kevin from Pattaya softball. Hope all is well with you. I sent you an email on this, but I thought I would post it here in case someone else knew of something.

I will be in Thailand July 7-18. Do you know of any practice games going on during that time? I'd love to get out and play sometime in the Bangkok area while I am there. I play 2x per week here in Chicago and want to stay in the groove.
I am aware of the Pattaya games, but looking for something near BKK. I will also have a day or two up in Chiang Mai and down in Phuket. Any softball there?
The Taiwanese play every Sunday at Thana City , Bang Na. I played there yesterday for the first time in several months. The field sucks but it is better than nothing and the people are friendly. Need to be there between 2:00 and 2:30. The Taiwanese have their own Softball association and they charge something like 3000 baht per year to join--that includes right to play every Sunday and then they sometimes provide food and have special events etc.---
Might be a good thing for you and I know they want more "farang" members. Also they might field a team in our league next season. _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
Angus is the one who told me about your website back when I joined last year. If I remember right he was active in the softabl scene in Thailand.
