According to a BBC article:
US still leads global spam list
More than a third of all spam e-mails originate in the US, according to a survey by security firm Sophos.
Computers in the US were responsible for more than 35% of global spam, while South Korea[/b[ was responsible for almost a quarter of all spam e-mails.
According to Sophos more than 50% of all spam is sent from "zombie" PCs, computers that have been take over by hackers or virus writers.
PCs in China sent almost 10% of spam, said the survey, while countries including France, Spain and the UK were each responsible for between one and three percent of spam e-mails.

Meanwhile, I see that one US spammer has been sentenced to a prison term for sending spam.
sent to prison? what sort of spam can justify that?
Any and all of the rubbish that I get!!
In fact, I think that is too mild.
Hung drawn and quartered sounds about right to me.
.... and they said that Alan didn't have a sense of humor
re the spammer from the US State of North Carolina, who was charged and tried in the next northern State of Virginia, he was sentenced to 9 years in jail.... purportedly one of the worlds top 10 spammers sending avg of 10 million pieces of spam per day grosing approx US$750,000 per month... prison sentence on hold pending appeal on various grounds including the US 1st ammendment of Right of Free Speach
So he was ripping people off to the tune of 750K$ per month--then he deserves whatever Alan can serve up _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating

Have Alan design a chair that he gets strapped in,,,,, strap the guy in tightly and have semi nude exotic dancers float around just out of reach and then the chair slowly rips out his snorting tube...

Actually the guy who invented spam during the war should have been jailed.
I was told it killed more British kids then V2 flying bombs.
You know the stuff, dissolved meat in a tin with a key stuck to the lid.
Ahh, Spam (spiced ham) as opposed to S.P.A.M, and I cant rememebr what it stands for but the last two words are "automated message".
Spam (the food, is 'orrible stuff. Used to get it sometimes when I was young. I always thought it was a punishment. lol
One of the "gifts" from America that was inflicted upon us at that time.
Strangely enough, it is still very popular in the Philippines. (I mean the food, not the messages), and there is even a restaurant in Manila that only serves Spam.
OK, who remembers the song?

Just a strange thought passing...
Some time ago I posted something about "Times, they are a Changin". Now looking back on things this is one of the things that changed..
When I was young, maybe 3 - 4 years old, due to a personal family tragedy, my family didn't have much in the way of material things or money. But of course at that age, I didn't know that ' we was po '. I can remember my mother opening the cans of 'SPAM', [yea you're right Ice, with the little key stuck on the can] slicing it kind of on the thin side, frying it and giving it to me for breakfast as I remember it.... You know what ?? I thought it was kind of good tasting...
Looking back, from a time point in later years, we ate a lot of things, back then, that I thought were good. Salted Fish, eel, catfish, salad greens, some best left unsaid meats, and I think I could probably name a few more; I enjoyed eating them, and was glad to have them...
It wasn't until quite a few years later, around uni time that I came to understand, from my peers of course, that these things didn't taste good and were what the 'po people' or the [lets just read here people of other races] ate.
Spam was among this list of foods.... In later years , I reacquired the 'liking' for an occasional can of Spam... I can distinctly remember that we used to have an old pedestal Dining room Table that had been discarded for some reason and was used as an outside picnic table, and guess what we used for an ashtray .....yep the empty Spam can.... Several as a matter of fact. and thanks for reminding me, Ice and Alan, because today I think I will go out and buy a can of Spam, cut off a few slices, 'fry em up' maybe with some eggs and potatoes, or maybe in a sandwich with hot mustard, sit back by myself at the table and proceed to enjoy my meal while reading the Spam Can.
Yea I think it will be a good day afterall ... Thanks guys..
