Hello folks
My wife & I are currently struggling with my business here in Thailand , but the xenophobic laws & requirements seem to be getting worse, so we are considering moving elsewhere -- like Malaysia.
Therefore, could anyone out there give me some idea of how difficult it is for a foreigner (British/Japanese) to set up a company in Malaysia. Are there any important limitations for foreigners setting up a company (requirements for local partners, etc.), are there any businesses reserved for locals, things like that.
Similarly, I believe it is relatively simple for a foreigner to buy property in Thailand -- especially residential. Is there anything I need to know about this topic, do you think?
I know I have infernal cheek asking so much but all & any help/guidance you can provide would be most warmly appreciated.

For you to own a business in Malaysia is not as difficult as you think, every of your business should have one local partners involved. He/she shall be just a sleeping partner. Apart from that, foreigners are not limited to any specific tyoe of business they are conducting in Malaysia.
Foreigners shall be able to purchase any type of property amouting RM250,000 and above regardless of landed or highrise property.
