Suvarnabhumi Airport --first impressions
I arrived at like 6:00 AM for my flight to Phnom Pehn. There were an huge number of florescent lights in the parking areas that made it quite impressive. From there it was basically downhill.
the taxi dropped me off in front of some Thai airway signs--passengers being let off then had to cross a 3 lane road full of traffic to get to the terminal building
duh..... the old one was better-out of the car and right into the terminal
enter the terminal and spent more time expected to find which checkin counter to go to--the signs were not clear and evident.
waited about 15 mins to check in --going through customs and etc was ok-lots of lines so not a very long wait
the boarding/waiting areas were full of overpriced shops and I did not really like the layout--I like singapores better.
coffe and pastry about 140 baht--they did have a nice fruit juice bar which I saw only after eating the other crap.
the rest uneventful
returning to Bangkok from P i was amazed that the plane stopped out near the runway and we had to get into those busses and sent into the terminal
You wouldn't say that, if you read the news about all the graft found in the contracts. It's more like "lots of money for some persons" _________________ Thailand Forum - Korat Forum..
