In a previous message Mike said that Public displays of affection are considered inappropriate in Thai culture. I was wondering whether this apply's to Outdoor beer bars. I've found that these places are good for some nice deep french kissing. Does the fact that you are outdoor and could possibly be seen from people in the street matter.

Another question regards how to react when a soapy girl Wai's you. There are two situations where you could possibly be Wai by a soapy girl. First after you choose her. Then do you need to wai her back Also after you tip her she may Wai you. Should you Wai her back or not.

Remember it always important to set a good example by showing respect for local customs.

Thats like being in a casino and worrying that someone might see you gambling. -you already have broken social mores just by being at a beer bar

You can wai back if you want but I don't think you are expected to. And noone will notice if you dont wai back. maybe she just wants you to check her hands for excess soap?.

I've seen children playing games in some of those places. The parents are happilly getting sloshed nearby.
