It's on again, and many people all around Australia outside the Melbourne metropolitan area will also be taking the afternoon or day off work or whatever to party on 6th November 2007.
The Melbourne Cup is Australia's most famous horse race and one of the major horse racing events throughout the world. The Melbourne Cup is known as "The Race That Stops a Nation", taking place every year on the first Tuesday of November. Millions of Australians, in schools, at work, in their homes stand eyes glued to the television to watch a single horse race that lasts no more than a few minutes.
The Melbourne Cup is a 3200m handicap and one of Melbourne's biggest annual sporting events since 1861.The Melbourne Cup 2007 will take place on November 6, 2007. It is a public holiday in the metropolitan area of Melbourne.
