Hello all! After reading so much about the advantages and great experience of language courses in different countries, I’m now thinking of taking one myself. I live on the beautiful island of Tenerife located in the Atlantic Ocean, which is part of the Canary Island chain. Tenerife is the perfect place for a diversified vacation but also to work and live. I moved here with my boyfriend three years ago to open a restaurant. A great deal of our customers and visitors on Tenerife are Germans. So now I’m seriously considering learning some German in order to communicate better with them. And the best way to do this would probably to study it directly in Germany, right?

I am fancying a German course Berlin. Has anyone ever done something like that? It would be great if someone could give me some advice on this topic! For example, is it useful to do this? I need to learn practical things that I can use in my daily contact with the tourists. Berlin seems to be an amazing city! I have done a little research on the Internet and already found a tonne of things I would love to do there!

My boyfriend will probably visit me while I am there. He doesn’t have time to do the language course with me since on of us has to take care of the restaurant. But he would love to see Berlin and get to know Germany a little bit. He is really into Poker and therefore I would like to know if anyone has any tips where to go to do that in Berlin? I’m sure it would be a nice surprise for him if I took him to a casino.

Thanks everybody for your help! I can’t wait to start this adventure!
