Anyone been up to Udon recently? I'll be there in October and I'd be interested to hear your impressions.

I've done a fair bit of research on the net but I keep getting conflicting reports uhm

Websites promote certain hotels and bars and write negative things about others. I'll only be there for two days as it's a transit point but any tips on accomm and where to/not to go would be appreciated.
