Date: Saturday, Mar 12th
Meeting Site and Time: 8:00 am the west gate of Worker stadium (look up the map), provide pick up at Capital Paradise cross
Hiking time: 4 hours
Back time: 18:00 pm
Hiking level: B+ (moderate)
Route: Yellow mountain is one of the most beautiful mountains in china, located in An hui province, I assume some of you have been there, we will visit it in the future, but not this weekend. A mountain about 2.5 h drive from downtown, called Yunmengshan, which has a nick name-small yellow mountain, due to its unique beauty. This Saturday we will hike the small first, 1400 meters above sea-level, starts from a small village, climb up and up, then down and up, enjoy the beautiful view while move your legs, later on gets to the top, have a great bird view, take some pictures, meanwhile start wondering what will the yellow mountain be like? Yunmengshan is also a preserved forest park, tourists normally take the steps up to the peak from another direction, we back door guys will walk down through the tourists path, has anybody Tao piao before (a Chinese word, means entering the park with paying entrance fee)? If nobody asks us for tickets, then we will have a tao piao experience. And you can blame Jeff for making you a bad foreigner…
This hike is not-soft, not-hard; anybody who excises legs regularly can accomplish it. And we invited a very experienced hiker to be our tour guide, he has left his foot prints on most of the mountains around Beijing…another good news is, for people who lived in Capital Paradise or nearby, we will provide a pick up at Capital Paradise cross (Jingshun road and the road to Capital Paradise)
Price
100 RMB, including transportation, guide, exclude the entrance fee (if tao piao fails)

Hiking shoes, water, your own lunch, energy complement

Route: Check out several interesting old Hutong first, listen to the guide elaborating Beijing history, Hutongers life, custom, architecture, pay a visit to Hutonger family, get to know their real life, then visit a 100 years old Whorehouse, and a fifteen minutes stay at an antique market, many interesting old stuffs there, Then head to the beautiful Houhai area, we will pass Chairman’s old residence on the way, cycle around the beautiful lake, take a little break, then cycle back to starting place.
