Was anyone here effected by the recent floods in Thailand? My street was luckily the only street in the whole district that i was able to easily walk through without getting wet at all. _________________ Asian Dating Bangkok Apartments Melbourne SEO

I know member TP has been quite heavily affected by floods in chiangmai.
Lots of my colleagues at work have been flooded but I have personally seen very little of any flooding--and I live in very low area _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
Not really, we just kept pumping the water back in the river! My house I had built high enough not to get problems with floods. When I lived about 13 years ago in town Korat I had the experience of living with water in my living room, and the water coming into the house through the drainage. That experience made me built another house. But I know, the people who bought my old house had worse problems this time than I had then. _________________ Thailand Forum - Korat Forum..
Many of our suppliers lost their feedstock . . . and we had basically zero business as farmers couldn't harvets, builders couldn't build etc . . . etc . . . _________________ _____________________________________
Any flood damage..... I would say so..... At least a little....
In the first of the photos, depicted are times gone by,,,,, the way my river front looked a little more than 2 years ago .... a little bit of paradise in the middle of the city. It was looking good in those days.. Managed to keep it green and reasonably well kept..
The river at this location , maybe came out of its banks about once during the rainy season.
Damage recovery usually consisted of a little mud hosing down and perhaps a lick of paint .
Then came August 05
There were 7 out-of-bank experiences during this, the rainy season of 2005. This is the photo of the worst of the worst. But the bright side ,,,,,, fishing was good...... In my front yard !!!!
This year, 2006, was as the 2 last photos show. Not really too bad. Considerably more painting than usual, but now all's is back to usable, but nowhere close photo #1.
x
River on the way up.....just the tops of the fence in the back could be seen at floods highest...
This years worst, about a metre and a half lower than picture #2
Today and for the next few days, [with Loi Krathong] it will make Baghdad sound quiet.
But life on the river goes on, and if and when the time comes, and I cannot hack it or choose not too, then .......?????? Ya pays yer money, and yer takes yer shot"
But the bright side ,,,,,, fishing was good...... In my front yard !!!!
With me it's just opposite. Lotsa my fish deceided to move to the much bigger river than staying in my pond. They crawled over 30 m land to get there. Or they are not hungry anymore now; the number of them coming to the feeding has drastically gone down. 6-kilo Praduks and so disappeared a lot.
Naja, nobody around here eats those oversize anyway. The belief in reincarnation makes them hesitate to eat what could be their reborn grandfather or so. _________________ Thailand Forum - Korat Forum..

Define what you mean by that statement in bold. No-one eats oversize fish then??
I really don't know much about Thailand, but I'll take it your statement on belief in reincarnation and how that relates to people not eating the bigger fish was just a stupid joke - exactly the kind that you would crack, come to think of it.
No offense, though - I'm awe struck by your pseudo-witticism.

That's plain truth. People around here are true buddhists. That's why I like it here so much. They even do not kill very big snakes but remove them to another place. Wild big animals in this "Land of the Free" are respected by the ordinary people because of reincarnation. Only greedy poachers don't mind.
I do appreciate your having asked so politely for a free lesson.
