My Chinese name is "Tingbudong". I have come to attend the English
Dinner. There are six foreign friends signing up for the English Dinner
to teach Chengdu people western food rites on Sunday 26th November.
Six Foreigners Registered For English Dinner
(Chengdu Economic Daily 24 November 2006)
“My Chinese name is TINGBUDONG" According to the humoruous words,
Australian Warren Rodwell - who has been in Chengdu for two years -
has bonded closely with locals quickly.
Warren is a journalist, and also a writer. He has travelled to many cities
in China (such as Beijing, Shanghai, Kunming, Qingdao and so on). But
since he came to Chengdu, he never plans to leave.
This year, he co-wrote an English book which introduces Chengdu to
foreigners. Its name is "Chengdu".He feels that "Chengdu is becoming
more & more international is a quite attractive point compared to other
cities in China".

When asked why he wanted to attend this event, Warren said " It
is very necessary to come." He has been in China for five years.
He said emotionally,"It is definitely not easy to learn other country's
ways for dinner".
Even though he often communicates with Chengdu local people in
normal situations & times, there are also some problems because
of the different languages.
" I look forward to the English Dinner on Sunday. I believe that
everyone will have a nice time." In addition, Roy and Matt from
Australia;and Walter, Anthany & Keven from America, have also registered.
Attention: Today, a limited number guests have been selected to
attend. Two hundred people applied. However, there are only fifty
seats available at the dinner.
