Don't feel bad--the sky isn't blue anywhere-It just looks blue... as the reflection of the suns light creates that blue effect we are so familiar with.

BTW
Tonight driving back from Pattaya I witnesed one of the most awesome sunset effects I have ever seen. I was driving in the pitch dark but 1/3 of the sky in front of me was the coolest pattern of blues, pinks and cloud formations I have ever seen. Actaully cant remember ever beingi n the dark yet able to see a small window of blue sky above the horizen..and it lasted for the full 30 minutes that i was pointed that way-- nice to know I can enjoy the simpler things in life.

Next time I go Ill take my camera and as I usually return around the same time , hope to see a similar effect and get in on camera.

Not sure how take that picture though-would need to use settings other than point and click--but my canon 300D should be able to handle that--anyone how to set the camera for that kind of shot??

Take a tripod with you. I'll explain why Cool

My Camera's a lil different (Fuji S 9000) but the principles and menus should be similar.

On mine, I switch to SP mode, then depending on the amount of available light either switch to 'night' mode or if there's enough light then 'panorama'.

If you use it on night mode it should automatically reduce the shutter speed and prolong the exposure ( to get as much light into the shot as possible), this is where you need the tripod as even the slightest movement will ruin your shot.

If you need a service manual for it mike, you can DL it here in PDF http://www.manuals-in-pdf.com/3000d-p-143748.html

For some types of shot a good film camera-SLR, is better than a digital one.

One example is lightning,

Funny, I just talked to someone about the sky and he told me that the color of the sky is caused by scattering.
