Just saw some scores reported on CNN but nothing else. MLB.com does highlight the classic on its front page. _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
What a pathetic bunch the Americans were, even with Jeter, Rodriguez, Damon, Clemens and co. _________________ Wer tanzen will, muss die Musik bezahlen
japan can have the bacon--is first year that they had this "world classic"
I bet rodrigues ended up with poor stats. Shame on them for pitching Clemons-hes totally on and off.. mostly off _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating

There were a few surprises. Johnny Damon was the biggest flop leading off. Ended up batting .143 - I think Matt Damon might have done a better job.
Clemens wasn't too bad although he's obviously past it. The guy that really blew it for them Dontrelle Willis. Ended up with a 12.00 + ERA. Pretty embarrassing for a team USA starter and MLB all-star.
It was a good event all in all. The Japanese public didn't really get into it until Japan made the second round, but it was huge by the end. Onward to 2009.....

Hewer, where'd ya go for the last Sumo tournament ?
Hey there Storekeeper. I was down in Isaan and Laos for most of the last tournament. Keeping close tabs on this one though. I think it might be a close finish.
Pretty busy here though and I won't be able to see any of it live - first time since '01.
Who d'ya think'll take it out and what did you think of the WBC? _________________ Wer tanzen will, muss die Musik bezahlen
As far as the WBC goes we covered this pretty well over on ajarn.com. I was really happy to see the Japanese win. But I don't think it will ever really be the American cup of tea. I don't attach too much "Patriotism" to this sort of tournament as do/will.
As far as Sumo goes ... things are getting more chalenging for the top sekitor since you and I last talked. Yushos aren't currently gimmees for Asashoryu like they were several months ago. Hakuho can beat him, Kotooshu can beat him, as well as Tochiazuma ...
Looks like Kaio is going to have to retire or go down for one tournament with a last chance to go right back to Ozeki.
