Hi guys, I've been to AsiaExpats Friends just now, and it is kinda cool. I saw the credits on the footer stated that it is powered by WorldFriends Networks. I have no idea what it is about when I visit their website. May I know how do you have the copy and is it free? Thanks in advance. _________________ http://www.stupiak.com | http://www.vincentchow.net
From what I understand, it's a dating affiliate program that you have to pay to sign up for. And then, your site would have the dating site as a "side" site, sort of ... for example, site owner of foo.com would have a dating affiliate linked to his site which would be accesible via http://friends.foo.com (or something like that).
Not sure how the payment works - I think the more members that sign up, the more one gets paid, but I am not sure. Mike would know more about this than me.
I emailed them about it yesterday, but have not recieved a response as yet.
It is kinda confusing. Do we get pay or we have to pay for using it?
Just wanna try if this script is handy. I tried phpIzabi, but it's not my xtyle.
You have to pay Vincent, but you also get paid once someone uses the site ... not sure how the payment part of it would work for someone of your age in your country, but that's how this sort of thing works.
In the long run, I think this sort of thing is worth it - increases the number of site hits. And THAT is ultimately what owning a website is all about - maximizing your hits . _________________ Dongguan Expat - Your online Community!
it is an affiliate--they have just taken on new investors so maybe they will change their business model.
Its a revenue sharing deal--very good--they build the website and provide a few marketing tools--i have not visited the site in months
they informed that they get much more traffic to the site from my web directory--why?? because the webdirectory site is much more seo friendly.
i did some SEO for AEF and expect traffic to pick up big time a a couple months-notice the urls if you browze thwe forums without logging on.
lets face it there must be tons of lonely people out there as the friends network has been taking on 30,000 members per month.
the beauty is that once the revenue includes subscription renewels so it has the potential to grow quite well. _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
Sorry, but I'm getting more confuse now.
So is it that anyone who is interested can apply for it and it will be sure to approved? Do you pay anything for that? _________________ http://www.stupiak.com | http://www.vincentchow.net

like I said they have new investors and probably dont do things as they did when I signed up.
but they will accept or refuse you based on your potential to provide business. I won talk about cost--seee how they respond to Rahuls inquiry _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating

Given that the server on which the site is hosted is down, they probably wont respond at all if they check it NOW ... _________________ Dongguan Expat - Your online Community!

Host is in the US. Actually their service is amazingly good most of the time - but there are problems sometimes (it's a small business really).
I can identify - the problem he mentioned occured to me at my last job (the bootloader got corrupted - and the Linux server wouldn't boot) - created a big mess, which took a lot of work to fix ...
So, not getting too ragged over it, but hopefully it'll be fixed soon.
Somehow WFN had got hold of my email address, because I got swamped with unwanted newsletters about "matches". Very obtrusive! I had to block their email address.
if you have any of those unwanted newsletters please forward one to me-i would like to see what they are sending around _________________ Asia Expats Forum Expat Friends Dating
